The GMO Panel assessed the stacked soybean event GMB151 × DAS-44406-6 (EFSA, 2026a). The parental plants combined in the stacked event are:
GMB151 expressing
- Cry14Ab-1 to confer resistance to plant parasitic nematodes and
- HPPD-4 providing tolerance to HPPD inhibitor-based herbicides,
DAS-44406-6 expressing
- PAT providing tolerance to glufosinate-based herbicides,
- AAD-12 providing tolerance to 2,4-D-based herbicides and
- 2mEPSPS providing tolerance to glyphosate-based herbicides.
In its opinion, EFSA comes to the conclusion that “the two-event stack soybean is as safe as its comparator and the tested non-GM reference varieties with respect to potential effects on human and animal health and the environment.” (EFSA, 2026a).
Testbiotech commented on both parental events, GMB151 (Testbiotech, 2021) DAS-44406-6 (Testbiotech, 2017). Open questions remain regarding the compositional equivalence and toxicity of these plants, as also discussed by experts of Member States (EFSA, 2026b).
