Testbiotech comment on EFSA’s assessment of genetically engineered maize 1507 x MIR162 x MON810 x NK603 and subcombinations, for food and feed uses, under Regulation (EC) No 1829/2003 (application EFSA-GMO-NL-2015-127) by Pioneer Hi-Bred International

Genetically engineered (GE) maize 1507 x MIR162 x MON810 x NK603 (four-event stack maize)
combines four single events:

  • 1507 (expressing the Cry1F and PAT proteins),
  • MON810 (expressing the Cry1Ab protein),
  • MIR162 (expressing the Vip3Aa20 and PMI proteins) and
  • NK603 (expressing two versions of EPSPS proteins).

According to EFSA, the four single events and six subcombinations have been assessed previously
by the authority. Implementing Regulation 503/2013 was applied in the EFSA risk assessment
(EFSA, 2020a).
