MON89034 x MON88017 maize as food and feed
MON89034 x MON88017 maize is one of several MON89034 hybrids for which Monsanto is currently applying for food and feed applications. As a hybrid it contains three Bt toxins against butterflies and beetles (lepidoptera and coleoptera) as well as Roundup tolerance.
MON89034 is a Bt maize by Monsanto, containing two Bt toxins against Lepidoptera: Cry1A.105 and Cry2Ab2. (See Event MON89034 for more details.).
MON88017 also contains two GM traits: it is glyphosate (Roundup) tolerant and produces the Bt toxin Cry3Bb1 against corn root worm (Diabrotica sp.). (See Event MON88017 for more details.).
